Northwest Sports Society(NWSS)
Founded in 2017, the Sports Society of Northwest School of Medicine has been a vibrant hub for athletic spirit, teamwork, and student engagement. Each year, the society organizes a thrilling Sports Week packed with energy and excitement. The week kicks off with a grand opening ceremony where each class proudly represents itself, followed by a series of competitive events. Major games include football, cricket, volleyball, and basketball, while minor games such as badminton, table tennis, chess, carrom, and darts add variety and inclusive fun. Traditional games like Chindroo and Salair celebrate our cultural roots and bring a nostalgic charm to the event. The week concludes with a memorable closing ceremony, where students are recognized with certificates, medals, and trophies—celebrating not just victory, but participation and sportsmanship.
Aims and Objectives of Northwest Sports Society
Words from ( GS NWSS ASAVERA NISAR)
AoA everyone, my name is Asavera nisar, and I am honoured to introduce myself as the first female General Secretary of Sports in the history of North West. This milestone is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the fact that with determination and hard work, women can break down barriers and excel in any field. As a female general secretary, I aim to promote sports spirit and sportsmanship in our medical college. Sports is not just about winning or losing; it’s about teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. It’s about pushing ourselves to be our best selves, both on and off the field. In a medical college, sports play a vital role in fostering a sense of camaraderie and stress relief among students. I believe that sports can be a powerful tool for building character and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Our sports society was founded by visionary pioneers who recognized the importance of sports in shaping well-rounded individuals. Today, we stand on the shoulders of these trailblazers, and I am proud to continue their legacy. As we move forward, we will build on the foundation they laid, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship that will inspire future generations of medical students. Thank you.”
