The Northwest Students Research Society (NSRS) is a student-led academic society dedicated to promoting undergraduate medical research through structured guidance, faculty mentorship, and collaborative learning. NSRS provides a vibrant platform where students can transform their basic research ideas into publishable work while gaining critical skills in scientific inquiry, teamwork, and innovation.
Founded with the goal to embed research culture into medical education, NSRS regularly organizes workshops, competitions, webinars, and collaborative programs to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical research application.
Objectives
- To raise awareness about ethical, impactful undergraduate medical research.
- To provide hands-on mentorship and project guidance to students.
- To enhance critical thinking and scientific writing skills.
- To connect students with faculty for interdisciplinary collaboration.
- To create a research-active student community across all years of MBBS.
Key Activities by NSRS:
- Organizes research quiz competitions (Kahoot-based).
- Conducts workshops/webinars, masterclasses on SPSS, meta-analysis, and clinical audit writing.
- Launches nationwide ambassadorship programs.
- Collaborating with the Global Surgery Department (GSD) for arranging journal clubs and co-hosting AI exhibition, research pitch competition, peer review competition, and ethical courtroom in their symposium.
- Supporting students in their publication pathway.
