Northwest School of Medicine hosted the formal oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed cabinet of the Global Surgery Regional Hub (GSRH) for Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The ceremony commenced with an inspiring welcome address by General Secretary, Uzair Sarwar, who highlighted the hub’s rapid growth and its vital role in bridging gaps in surgical care. This was followed by a comprehensive presentation by the Academic Directorate, Zeeshan and Hudaina, showcasing a portfolio of 30+ international research projects, along with an active global campaign advocating for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to be recognized as a notifiable condition.
Prof. Dr. Amir Khan (Principal, NWSM) administered the oath to the cabinet, while Dr. Tariq Khan (Director, GSRH) addressed the students with motivating insights. The ceremony was also graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Naveed Alam (VP Administration) and Dr. Almas Fasih Khattak (Faculty Advisor, GSRH).
As we continue to strengthen collaborations with global partners, the GSRH remains committed to advancing clinical excellence and driving high-impact research.
